Soft Tissue

Soft Tissue Therapy is quite frequently used by various types of therapies such as Remedial Massage, Physiotherapy & Chiropractic. Soft Tissue treatments are predominantly used to alleviate aches, pains and injuries that are attributed to the body's soft tissues.

The three most common techniques used in Soft Tissue Massage are:

  • Trigger Point Therapy- helps to alleviate chronic muscle pain & promotes flexibility throughout the body's connective tissue
  • Swedish Massage - increases oxygen flow in the blood & releases toxins from muscles
  • Friction - helps create heat which promotes healing to an injured area

Soft Tissue's main purpose is to alleviate symptoms that are associated to a range of various medical conditions & improves oxygen flow and helps relieve muscle tension. Some of the other benefits are:

  • Increases blood circulation & lymph flow
  • Reduces joint inflammation & improves healing time of strained ligaments and muscle tissue
  • Increases endorphins & strengthens immune system
  • Can improve the performance of your muscles, circulatory system & joints
  • Improves range of motion and joint flexibility
  • Releases adhesions which can improve athletic performance
  • Can ease some discomforts that are associated with pregnancy, premenstrual tension and menopause
  • Reduce symptoms associated with fibromyalgia
  • It also has a wide variety of mental benefits, including the ability to induce a very relaxed state of mind
