Kirsty Tan – Physiotherapist

Kirsty graduated from Curtin University in 2009 and subsequently gained valuable experience working in private practice. She has recently joined the team at Active Care in November 2010 and has worked closely with a variety of sporting teams including AFL, Gymnastics and Track and Field Athletics. She travelled with the State WA Athletics team as the team physiotherapist in 2010. Kirsty affiliation with Track and Field stemmed from her long involvement as an athlete, having represented the state from 2000-2005.

Kirsty has a keen interest in manual therapy for knee, shoulder and neck and back related conditions, along with a passion for sport and injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning.

She is a current member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and has been trained in the use of dry needling (acupuncture) and kinesiotaping which she combines with appropriate hands-on manual therapy and specific exercises to treat the underlying cause of the problem and help prevent future episodes, for long term symptom management and wellness care. Her physiotherapy techniques are stemmed from a movement analysis and exercise rehabilitation sporting background.
